HTP – High Temperature Line Plugging
Furmanite’ HTP Line Plugging System is the time-tested, pioneering system for stopping the flow in operating High Temperature Piping Systems. HTP Line Plugging is used on pipe systems operating at above 340 degrees F, when traditional elastomer seals begin to break down. HTP Line Stops rely on a metal to metal seat, compressing copper against a freshly machined pipe surface. HTP Line Stop Plugging Head design provides a true double block and bleed feature.
Furmanite performed the world’s first High Temperature Line Stop on a superheated steam line at the Republic Steel Mill in Chicago, Illinois during the late 1960′s. Since then, we have successfully and safely performed thousands of these operations, including Line Stops on pipes to 20″ and at temperatures to 900 degrees F.
